Our Orientation and Mobility Specialist is responsible for providing training and support to adults with visual impairments, helping them develop the skills necessary for safe and independent travel. This role involves assessing clients' abilities, creating individualized mobility plans, and teaching techniques for navigating various environments including rehabilitation centers, work sites and client's homes.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in orientation and mobility, special education, rehabilitation, or a related field.
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) or (NOMS)
- Experience working with adults with visual impairments and/or individuals with combined vision and hearing loss is desired.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various locations for client training.
