Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a Master's degree preferred from an accredited university in the field of early childhood special education or special education or visual disabilities
• Must have Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification
• Missouri teaching certification in Blind and Partially Sighted and other related areas preferred
• Experience working with children with visual impairments
• Experience working with early childhood regular or special education classroom teachers and therapy teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Proficiency in a variety of assistive technology
• Proficiency with vision specific technologies such as JAWS, Perky Duck, Duxbury, Braille embossing/transcribing, ZoomText
